Dawn Charleston-Green

Dawn Charleston-Green, a native of Mansfield Louisiana, is the Founder and Creator of Dawn of a New Day 365. DND365 is a movement focused on women journeying through everyday life –the good, the bad, the unexpected, and the ugly. Overcoming with TRUTH and TRANSPARENCY, leading to TRANSFORMATION.

Who is Dawn?

Dawn is a wife and mother; and has former experience as a Director in Child Advocacy, an English and Choir Teacher, and an Army Officer. Today, however, Dawn is also an entrepreneur, Christian minister, mentor, writer, life blogger, self-published author and speaker.

Dawn of New Day 365

Dawn has learned the importance and significance of appreciating the dawning of new day; having experienced her share of darkness through the test and trials of life. And though she has had her own Luke 22:31 experience (“being sifted as wheat”); she accepts the call to action to go back and strengthen other women.

Dawn is taking the charge to meet women where they are; creating a safe space that offers inspiration, encouragement, support, and resources. The DND365 platform allows women to connect with each other and have conversations on topics unique to the female experience. Through articles and other content, Dawn shares her own personal testimonies, as well as those of others; so that women know they are not alone.

Dawn’s Ministry

Dawn has been an ordained minister and teacher for over 15 years; organizing and facilitating women’s Bible Studies for several years now. She has welcomed women into her home; giving them a space to discuss assigned devotionals, relax, relate, and release whatever concerns they may have. She recently gave the gathering a name- C3- COFFEE, Couches, and Conversations; and also referred to she and the ladies as C.O.F.F.E.E.Chicks of Faith, Focused, Encouraged, & Empowered. She implies that coming together to drink coffee only offers temporary satisfaction. However, being COFFEE has a lasting affect.

Dawn’s Education and Experience

Dawn is a graduate of Northwestern State University of Louisiana; where she received a Bachelor’s of Art in English in 1996 and a Masters of Education in Counseling in 2003. Considering herself a lifelong learner, Dawn is 12 hours shy of a doctoral degree in Educational Leadership.

Dawn served in the United States Army from 1996-2007; serving both in the enlisted ranks as a Finance Specialist and as commissioned officer in Air Defense Artillery and again in Finance.

Dawn’s Awards and Honors

Dawn was a 2012 Shero in Law & Government Recipient; served on the Executive Board for GA Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children; and Augusta University’s Advisory Board for Social Work. She also holds other prestigious awards such as the Joint Service Commendation Medal, Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, and the Bronze Wahathchee Award for Volunteerism. Dawn is a 28-year member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and currently serves at the Executive Board Vice President for Still Waters Ministries in Augusta, GA.
